**Job Title**
Data Engineering Manager – Integration
**Role Summary**
Lead and scale a 4‑person integration engineering team focused on building and maintaining data pipelines and integration APIs between the core platform and external client tools (e.g., Hotjar, Heap). Manage full‑stack solutions (Vue.js, Nest.js, React, Python, Node.js, Scala, Go) on AWS, ensuring high‑quality, secure, and scalable architectures while driving cross‑functional collaboration with product management.
**Expectations**
- Grow the team from 4 to 10+ engineers through active recruitment and onboarding.
- Maintain and modernize legacy integrations while delivering new, large‑scale projects on schedule.
- Foster a collaborative, ownership‑driven culture with clear career development and regular 1:1s.
- Serve as a technical advocate, making architectural decisions and reviewing trade‑offs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage day‑to‑day team activities: sprint planning, code reviews, and performance coaching.
- Own the technical roadmap, translating product goals into clear, deliverable milestones.
- Collaborate with product managers to define requirements, prioritize backlog, and set realistic timelines.
- Institute best practices for code quality, unit/integration testing, CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring.
- Provide expert technical guidance on front‑end, back‑end, and data engineering components across the stack.
- Drive innovation through experimentation, scalability improvements, and process optimization.
- Ensure secure, resilient integration services with robust error handling and data consistency checks.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams (minimum 2–3 years).
- Hands‑on expertise in full‑stack development: Vue.js, Nest.js, React, Python, Node.js; data stack: Scala, Go.
- Cloud proficiency with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, ELB, CloudWatch).
- Strong architectural mindset: system design, data pipeline optimization, API gateway patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor, conduct code reviews, set OKRs, and facilitate continuous improvement.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Preferences for AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or comparable cloud certifications.
