**Job Title**
SolarWinds Engineer – Transit Infrastructure Monitoring
**Role Summary**
Design, deploy, and maintain SolarWinds monitoring solutions for mission‑critical transit networks (rail, bus, control center). Deliver real‑time visibility, proactive alerts, and root‑cause analysis to ensure maximal uptime, safety, and regulatory compliance across complex SCADA and communication systems.
**Expactations**

- Full compliance with NERC‑CIP, DOT, and local transportation authority standards.
- Seamless integration of SolarWinds tools with IT service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Collaboration with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to align monitoring with safety and reliability objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and manage SolarWinds environments (NPM, NTA, SAM, NCM, etc.) across distributed transit infrastructure.
- Develop advanced dashboards, alerts, and automated remediation workflows for SCADA, signaling, and communications systems.
- Integrate SolarWinds with ITSM platforms, enabling field teams and control centers to ingest and act on monitoring data.
- Lead performance tuning and root‑cause analysis for critical transit components.
- Validate and audit monitoring configurations against NERC‑CIP, DOT, and agency regulations.
- Partner with cybersecurity, network, and field operations teams to refine monitoring strategy.
**Required Skills**
- 7+ years experience with SolarWinds NPM, NTA, SAM, NCM, or equivalent suites in large‑scale, real‑time environments.
- Deep knowledge of SNMP, NetFlow, WMI, and industrial protocols used in transportation networks.
- Proficient scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation, data extraction, and integration.
- Experience supporting field operations and remote asset monitoring in transit or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with SCADA, NOC operations, and transportation procurement processes.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (NERC‑CIP, DOT).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline.
- SolarWinds certifications (e.g., SolarWinds Certified Professional) OR equivalent networking credentials (CCNA, CCNP).
