Cisco Sr. Engineer, Network
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise‑scale network infrastructure across on‑premises datacenters and cloud environments (public and private). Drive architecture strategy, capacity planning, and security alignment, ensuring resilient, scalable, and cost‑effective network solutions while mentoring technical teams.
**Expectations**
- Deliver end‑to‑end network architecture for multi‑site, multi‑data‑center environments.
- Act as technical authority and primary point of contact for all network architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align networking initiatives with business goals and cybersecurity standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and prototype network systems (simple to highly complex) using schematic, modeling, and prototyping tools.
- Lead architecture planning, execution, and continuous improvement of public and private network systems.
- Conduct capacity planning, performance analysis, and proactive scaling of network resources.
- Optimize existing infrastructure through consolidation, virtualization, automation, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, configuration records, and procedural guides.
- Implement monitoring solutions to track outages, utilization, degradation, and traffic patterns; produce regular status reports.
- Define and enforce system policies for integrity, security, and performance.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for wireless, IP telephony, VMware, AWS, and Azure network integration.
- Investigate root causes of cross‑domain issues, collaborating with multiple technology teams.
- Prepare SOWs, estimates, and BOMs for projects; manage change control processes.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging networking technologies into the enterprise roadmap.
**Required Skills**
- Expert knowledge of SD‑WAN, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), switching, VLANs, and WAN architectures.
- Strong experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco SD‑WAN, VMware NSX‑T, and multi‑site enterprise network design.
- Proficiency in network capacity planning, performance optimization, and automation.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud networking for AWS and Azure, including security and connectivity best practices.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7 years of IT experience, including 3 + years as a Network Technical Lead.
- 3 + years of proven experience with SD‑WAN, network switching, routing, and multi‑site LAN/WAN deployments.
- 3 + years of designing/implementing enterprise networks with Cisco IOS and multi‑data‑center organizations.
- 2 + years of architectural support for cloud network infrastructure.
- Certifications: CCNP or higher (e.g., CCIE) preferred; AWS Certified Advanced Networking; Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).
