About the Company

L’histoire du Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes est intimement liée à celle du Festival du Film qui débute en 1946. Au total, le Palais des Festivals dispose aujourd’hui de 35.000 m² de surfaces d’exposition et de multiples salles. En constante évolution et à la pointe des nouvelles technologies, il est équipé des dernières nouveautés en matière de son et lumières, d’un système Wifi et d’un réseau de vidéosurveillance pour la sécurité des biens et des personnes. Pour gérer ce « vaisseau amiral », la SEMEC (Société d’Economie Mixte pour les Evénements Cannois) est créée le 1er janvier 1992 par la fusion de trois associations Loi 1901 : Cannes Tourisme, l’OMACC et l’association Cannes Palais des Congrès. La Mairie de Cannes, au travers d’une délégation de service public, lui délègue plusieurs missions : la promotion de la ville (tourisme de loisirs, clientèle individuelle et groupes), la commercialisation de la destination affaires (clientèle de congressistes), la gestion de l’Office du Tourisme, celle du Palais des Festivals et des Congrès et enfin l’animation événementielle de la cité.

Job title: Head of Project Manager Role Summary: Lead operational excellence for large‑scale events at a premier venues, managing a team of 6 project managers, coordinating technical and logistical execution, and serving as the primary liaison with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Expactations: - Deliver exceptional event outcomes on time, within scope and budget. - Develop and coach project managers to enhance performance and service quality. - Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and venue standards. - Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and make decisive actions. - Foster strong client relationships and anticipate future needs. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise, schedule, and mentor a team of 6 project managers. - Plan, coordinate, and oversee technical set‑up, operations, and teardown for events. - Collaborate with organizers, external suppliers, and internal teams to guarantee event success. - Maintain and improve operational processes, quality standards, and safety protocols. - Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and cost controls. - Serve as the trusted client contact, providing tailored solutions and proactive communication. - Monitor and report on project performance, providing insights for continuous improvement. Required Skills: - Proven experience (≥7 years) in large conference, exhibition, or event management. - Strong leadership, team development, and stakeholder engagement. - Expertise in event technical environments (lighting, AV, staging). - Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and crisis management. - Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., USI, Momentus or equivalent). - Fluent in English (oral and written). - Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills. - Resilience under pressure and commitment to service excellence. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hospitality, Event Management, Business Administration, or related field. - Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) highly desired.
