Job Title: Level 3 IT Technician (Servers, Networking & Entra)
Role Summary
Senior technical support specialist responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Windows Server and networking infrastructures in multi‑tenant environments. Provides advanced troubleshooting, escalated incident resolution, and mentorship for junior staff while enforcing security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Expectations
- Deliver high‑availability server and network services for multiple clients.
- Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point with root‑cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Lead infrastructure projects, migrations, and security audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, and security policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and troubleshoot Windows Servers (2016‑2022) and Active Directory environments, including GPO, domain trusts, and hybrid Azure AD integration.
2. Configure, monitor, and maintain network components: firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and switches (SonicWall, UniFi, Dell, etc.).
3. Oversee virtual infrastructure: Hyper‑V, VMware or Azure VMs, replication, failover, and backup.
4. Deploy and administer endpoint protection and security solutions (EDR, ThreatLocker, Bitdefender).
5. Process and resolve escalations from Tier 1/2 technicians, providing root‑cause analysis and documentation.
6. Participate in migration, deployment, and audit projects across on‑premise and cloud platforms.
7. Document procedures, update PSA (HaloPSA) asset records, and enforce NIST/CIS security controls.
Required Skills
- 5+ years professional IT experience focused on servers and networking.
- Proficiency with DNS, DHCP, routing, switching fundamentals.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Azure AD, and Entra.
- Experience with hyper‑visors (Hyper‑V, VMware) and virtualization management.
- Understanding of NIST/CIS frameworks and incident response processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: MS‑102, SC‑900, or MS‑900
• CompTIA Security+ or ISC² Security+
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP
• VMware or Hyper‑V certification
• Fortinet NSE 4+ or SonicWall CSSA
