**Job Title:** Platform Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and maintain the scalable cloud platform that powers cryptocurrency banking services. This role focuses on GCP infrastructure, distributed data stores, containerized services, CI/CD automation, monitoring, and security compliance.
**Expectations:**
* Deliver reliable, highly available infrastructure for a fintech service that handles regulated fiat‑to‑crypto flows.
* Collaborate closely with engineering teams to accelerate feature delivery while enforcing best‑practice design and compliance standards.
* Provide on‑call support, automate operational processes, and continuously improve system performance and security.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Architect, provision, and manage compute, storage, and networking resources on GCP (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, etc.).
2. Operate and tune distributed systems: Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB, ensuring 99.99 % availability and efficient scaling.
3. Build and maintain end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI, covering code quality, testing, deployment, and rollback.
4. Use Terraform to define cloud infrastructure as code, enforce version control, and enable drift detection.
5. Implement monitoring and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana; configure dashboards and automated incident response.
6. Partner with product and dev teams to streamline release processes, automate deployments, and resolve infra‑related incidents.
7. Participate in regular on‑call rotations, providing out‑of‑hours support for production issues.
8. Administer internal IT tooling (JumpCloud, Google Workspace), managing user provisioning, onboarding, and off‑boarding.
9. Enforce security policies: role‑based access control, patching, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with financial regulations.
**Required Skills:**
* ≥3 years Platform Engineering / DevOps / SRE experience.
* Proficiency with GCP services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and networking.
* Deep experience in infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform.
* Strong CI/CD expertise, preferably GitLab CI or equivalent.
* Containerization knowledge: Docker, Kubernetes; Kubernetes operations (deployment, scaling, networking).
* Familiarity with distributed data stores: Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB.
* Monitoring & alerting: Prometheus, Grafana, or similar suites.
* Scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation.
* Security best practices: IAM, patch management, vulnerability scanning, and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent collaboration, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
* Certifications preferred: GCP Professional Cloud Architect/Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Associate, or equivalent.
