**Job Title:** Director of Cybersecurity
**Role Summary**
Lead the organization’s cybersecurity strategy and daily security operations, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data, including PHI. Set vision, develop policies, manage risk, oversee budgeting, and collaborate across IT, clinical, and business functions to meet regulatory compliance and protect enterprise assets.

- Deliver a comprehensive, forward‑looking cybersecurity roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Maintain continuous protection against evolving threats while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulations.
- Effectively manage cybersecurity talent, vendors, budgets, and incident response capabilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and develop a cybersecurity team: performance management, coaching, and career planning.
- Oversee daily operations: threat monitoring, incident detection, and response.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls for PHI protection.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with IT, clinical technology, and business leaders to integrate security across the enterprise.
- Direct incident response and forensic investigations to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
- Manage third‑party risk: vendor selection, performance monitoring, and contract oversight.
- Develop and control operating and capital cybersecurity budgets.
- Promote security awareness through training and education programs.
- Monitor emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends; recommend improvements.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning related to cybersecurity.
- Travel locally as required and adhere to organizational policies and training mandates.
**Required Skills**
- Executive leadership and team‑management experience.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity architecture, threat intelligence, and incident response.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH) and risk assessment.
- Strong vendor and contract management capabilities.
- Budget planning and financial stewardship.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to translate complex security concepts to non‑technical audiences.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in technology or IT, including at least 7 years leading cybersecurity in an enterprise environment.
- Valid driver’s license with compliant insurance coverage (state‑specific).
