**Job Title**
Senior AWS Data Architect
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and optimize cloud‑native data platforms on AWS to support scalable analytics, business intelligence, and data‑driven decision making. Lead end‑to‑end data architecture, including data lakes, warehouses, and streaming solutions, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
**Expectations**
- Architect secure, scalable, and highly available data solutions using AWS native services.
- Deliver end‑to‑end pipelines from ingestion to consumption.
- Lead migration projects and provide technical mentorship.
- Communicate complex concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement data lakes, warehouses, and streaming architectures on AWS.
- Define ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies using Glue, Lambda, EMR, S3, Redshift, Athena, Kinesis, Step Functions, etc.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Establish data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (IAM, KMS, Lake Formation).
- Optimize data systems for cost, performance, and scalability.
- Lead migrations from on‑prem or other clouds to AWS.
- Mentor and guide data engineering teams.
**Required Skills**
- 12+ years in data architecture, engineering, or cloud architecture.
- Proficiency with AWS services: S3, EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Step Functions, Redshift, Athena, QuickSight, IAM, KMS, Lake Formation.
- Strong SQL, Python, and ETL framework experience.
- Data modeling expertise (3NF, dimensional modeling, Data Vault).
- Familiarity with data governance and metadata management tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, or equivalent) preferred.
