**Job Title:** Cyber Security Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Provide advanced technical analysis, design, integration, and implementation of security solutions for complex federal IT environments. Lead security assessments, enforce policies, and support system optimization across architecture, networking, and software domains.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver high‑quality security designs and recommendations.
- Identify and mitigate IT security risks proactively.
- Conduct and document security assessments, penetration tests, and forensic investigations.
- Manage and configure SIEM tools and lead security project implementations.
- Collaborate with senior consultants to improve system performance and compliance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Analyze specialized applications and operational environments to develop secure solutions.
- Define, review, and enforce information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Perform technical security assessments, audits, penetration testing, and forensic analysis.
- Configure, manage, and monitor SIEM platforms.
- Coordinate and lead security project implementation and integration activities.
- Support information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, and software lifecycle management.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements, optimization, and maintenance.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong knowledge of NIST, OMB A‑130, and federal cybersecurity regulations.
- Experience with security architecture, risk management, and electronic analysis.
- Proficiency in penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and forensic techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Familiarity with networking protocols, telecommunications, and automation.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field **or** 8+ years of relevant IT engineering/security experience.
- One or more of the following certifications: Security+, CAP, CISM, CISSP, or GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC).
- Eligibility for U.S. government security clearance (subject to investigation).
