Job Description
**Job Title:** Contract Administrator **Role Summary:** Provide oversight and administration of construction contracts for large‑scale water infrastructure projects. Coordinate between clients, contractors, and agencies; prepare documentation; monitor compliance with contract terms and safety standards; and ensure project deliverables are met. **Expectations:** - Minimum supervision, self‑directed work. - Ability to work extended hours as project demands. - Maintain accurate records, respond to RFIs, and resolve site issues promptly. **Key Responsibilities:** - Attend, chair and document site meetings (agenda, minutes). - Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and change directives. - Monitor contract quantities; prepare RFQs, change orders, and payment certificates. - Coordinate communication among clients, contractors, and agencies. - Evaluate contractor performance, ensuring quality and delivery standards. - Implement construction safety procedures and inspection protocols. - Manage records of site inspections, progress reports, and financial documents. **Required Skills:** - Strong written and verbal communication. - Superior record‑keeping and documentation. - Problem‑solving, sound judgement, and decision‑making. - Ability to interpret contract documents and engineering drawings. - Proficiency with MS Office. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). - Professional Engineer registration (P.E.) or Ontario Engineering & Architect Registration Board (OACETT) Certified Engineer Technician (CET). - MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s licence in good standing and access to a private vehicle. **Preferred (but not required) Experience/Training:** - 7+ years in contract administration and site inspection roles. - Experience on Infrastructure Ontario or similar municipal servicing projects, including contaminated soils, dewatering, and pumping station construction. - Knowledge of Canadian contract law and the Construction Lien Act. - First Aid, CPR, confined space entry, working at heights, and OTM Book 7 training. - Surveying with total station or GPS technology.
