Job Description
Job title: Food Process Engineer Role Summary: Lead and manage capital equipment projects within a Technical Applications Group to expand capacity, enhance quality, and drive continuous improvement in a food manufacturing environment. Expectations: - Deliver equipment selections and installations that meet schedule, budget, and safety standards. - Apply process optimization and continuous improvement methods to increase throughput and product quality. - Communicate technical requirements and progress to cross‑functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate, recommend, and specify new manufacturing equipment (automation, robotics, packaging, etc.). - Project‑manage equipment installation, commissioning, and hand‑over activities. - Coordinate vendor, contractor, and plant resources to ensure successful delivery. - Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement Lean/Six Sigma solutions. - Maintain up‑to‑date process documentation, equipment specifications, and standard work. - Ensure compliance with quality controls, GMP, and health‑safety regulations. - Support ongoing process and equipment optimization initiatives. Required Skills: - Process optimization & capacity planning - Equipment selection and specification - Capital project management (scope, schedule, budget) - Data analysis and statistical process control - Quality assurance and GMP compliance - CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) - PLC/HMI programming (preferred) - Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma (preferred) - Strong written and verbal technical communication Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field - Proven project‑management experience in a manufacturing setting - Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel - Certification or formal training in Lean/Six Sigma (preferred) - Diploma or experience with PLC/HMI programming (preferred)
