Job title: Freelance Back‑End Developer Role Summary: Deliver robust, scalable back‑end solutions for enterprise applications, blending Python, Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks with tight integration to Google Cloud Platform services. Expatcations: 6‑month contract, remote, compliant with IR35. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and Node.js. - Implement front‑end components with React where required. - Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud Storage). - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and configure monitoring and alerting. - Develop and execute automated test suites (unit, integration, regression). - Apply security best practices, enforce role‑based access controls, and protect sensitive data. - Optimize application performance and scalability for high‑traffic environments. Required Skills: - Expert proficiency in Python and Node.js for back‑end development. - Solid experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and React. - Hands‑on experience deploying, scaling, and maintaining services on GCP. - Design and integration of RESTful APIs. - Automated testing (unit, integration, regression). - Security fundamentals: role management, data protection. - Performance tuning and scalability engineering. - DevOps practices: CI/CD, automation, monitoring. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer) preferred.
