Job title: AI/ML Developer Internship
Role Summary: Intern will operate as a full‑time AI/ML developer, responsible for designing, building, and deploying production‑grade machine learning models and AI services on a secure healthcare platform. The role blends data science, statistical analysis, and software engineering in a fast‑moving startup environment.
Expectations: Deliver end‑to‑end ML pipelines, develop Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, expose inference services via FastAPI, manage vector databases, and contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and MLOps practices. Must collaborate across engineering teams, adhere to version control standards, and ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical hypothesis testing on healthcare datasets.
- Design and run A/B tests to evaluate model performance.
- Build, train, and deploy predictive models (classification, regression, forecasting) using AWS SageMaker or Azure Machine Learning.
- Develop automated feature engineering and data transformation pipelines.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations with Plotly, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Implement MLOps pipelines (e.g., MLflow) for experiment tracking, versioning, and monitoring.
- Design and maintain RAG systems with Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, ChromaDB, FAISS, S3 Vectors, and OpenSearch.
- Build and deploy Python FastAPI servers for real‑time AI inference.
- Manage semantic search and knowledge extraction workflows.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for external data sources and APIs.
Required Skills
- Advanced Python (2+ years); proficiency with pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit‑learn.
- Git version control and collaborative workflow experience.
- 1+ year experience with AWS SageMaker or Azure Machine Learning.
- SQL querying skills for data extraction and analysis.
- Statistical analysis: hypothesis testing, A/B testing, experimental design.
- Data visualization: matplotlib, seaborn, Plotly, Tableau.
- MLOps: experience with MLflow or equivalent tools.
- FastAPI development for production AI services.
- AWS services: Lambda, Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, S3, EC2.
- RAG and vector database knowledge (ChromaDB, FAISS, S3 Vectors, OpenSearch).
- NLP/document processing: text extraction, classification, information retrieval.
Nice to Have
