Job Title: Designer – Aerie Bras and Innovation
Role Summary:
Lead end‑to‑end design of Aerie bras, from concept through production, integrating market trends, material sourcing, and cost strategy while maintaining brand aesthetics and quality standards.
Expectations:
- Deliver on‑time, trend‑aligned designs that meet quality and cost metrics.
- Collaborate effectively across design, technical, production, sourcing, and merchandising teams.
- Maintain a strong understanding of domestic and international fashion trends relevant to intimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify seasonal and future market trends and translate them into Aerie designs.
- Present concepts to senior leadership and executive teams.
- Evaluate seasonal category relationships and coordinate with design leadership.
- Partner with technical, production, and raw‑material teams to develop fit and construction plans.
- Ensure customer needs are reflected through collaboration with merchants.
- Source new core fabrics and work with the raw‑materials team on seasonal materials.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on innovation and new techniques.
- Attend trade shows, trend shows, and share insights with team.
- Design core‑bra category products per brand direction.
- Maintain daily classification updates in PLM and communicate with CAD team on patterns and prints.
- Prepare presentation boards for monthly meetings and observe presentation standards.
- Manage lab dips, wash submissions, and finishes with supervisor approval.
- Participate in fit sessions and maintain classification records during travel.
- Perform preliminary design research and contribute to project assignments as needed.
- Work in hybrid environment, ensuring in‑office collaboration for product development, fittings, and approvals.
Required Skills:
- 4‑8 years experience in intimates, with specific bra design expertise.
- Strong eye for color, trend, detail, and construction.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, and PLM systems.
- Ability to create tech packs, body sketches, and BOMs.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and liaison abilities across departments.
- Multi‑tasking and prioritization skills aligned with business objectives.
- Detail‑oriented, computer literate, and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Apparel Design, Art, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ASAPS, Pantone, technical design courses) preferred but not mandatory.
