**Job title:** Security and Fire Protection Specialist
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of security, fire protection, and crisis management systems for a manufacturing facility. Ensure compliance with insurance, corporate, regulatory, NFPA, and OSHA standards while safeguarding people, property and operational continuity. Act as the primary liaison for site security and fire protection, coordinating internal and external stakeholders and leading emergency response initiatives.
**Expectations:**
- Be available 24/7 on call for emergency incidents and crisis management.
- Maintain and update security and fire protection plans, procedures, and documentation.
- Demonstrate problem‑solving, calm decision‑making, and strong communication across all organizational levels.
- Manage budgets, evaluate vendors, and identify cost‑saving improvements without compromising safety.
- Deliver timely training, drills, and continuous professional development.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and enforce security policies, access control (ACS), CCTV, IDS, and alarm systems.
- Oversee third‑party security service operations and contract management.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and maintain a property loss‑prevention program.
- Design, test, and coordinate fire protection systems, inspections, and suppression measures.
- Lead plant crisis management planning, response coordination, and emergency drills with Fire, EMS, and law‑enforcement agencies.
- Address high‑voltage battery emergencies and severe weather incidents.
- Serve as Site Security Officer (SSO) and Fire Protection Officer (FPO); act as liaison with corporate security.
- Provide troubleshooting, everyday support, and strategic recommendations to reduce risks and costs.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of security and fire protection experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Expertise in security system design, asset‑tracking, surveillance, and access control.
- Knowledge of NFPA fire protection codes, life‑safety standards, OSHA regulations, and security best practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Hands‑on crisis leadership, calm under pressure, and decisive problem solving.
- Budgeting, scheduling, and vendor‑management proficiency.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Security, Emergency Management, Safety Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications highly desirable: Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
