Job Description

Job Title: SOC Engineer Role Summary: The SOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting security incidents, implementing security controls, and enhancing SOC operations. The role includes incident handling, rule and process development, team coordination, and collaboration with client security teams to maintain a robust security posture. Expectations: - 4+ years of SOC or cybersecurity experience. - Proven ability to manage and respond to security incidents. - Strong command of SIEM technologies and other SOC tools. - Experience in rule creation, process development, and team leadership. - Ability to work collaboratively across client teams and internal SOC staff. Key Responsibilities: - Track, analyze, and report security incidents and occurrences. - Design and recommend security controls (IDS/IPS, endpoint security, vulnerability management, data loss prevention). - Create, refine, and document operational rules, processes, and procedures with SOC Manager support. - Serve as initial point of contact for SOC team, providing guidance and handling escalated security incidents. - Allocate and supervise work assignments for SOC team members. - Maintain and optimize SIEM configuration and rule sets. Required Skills: - Expertise in SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight). - Deep knowledge of IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and DLP technologies. - Strong analytical and incident response capabilities. - Ability to develop operational rules, processes, and procedures. - Leadership and team coordination skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. - Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, OSCP, or equivalent.
