Job Description

**Job Title** Founding DevOps Engineer **Role Summary** Lead the design, implementation, and operation of the scalable AI infrastructure that powers virtual AI employees for medical clinics. Own the cloud strategy from ideation to launch, enabling high‑throughput data pipelines, resilient services, and regulatory‑compliant operations. **Expectations** - Full‑stack ownership of product and architecture in a fast‑moving startup. - Demonstrate entrepreneurial initiative, solve complex technical problems, and drive decisions with minimal guidance. - Communicate effectively with founders and cross‑functional teams to align engineering with business goals. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and build AWS‑based cloud infrastructure using Terraform, including networking, compute, storage, and CI/CD pipelines. - Develop large‑scale data processing pipelines in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; deploy voice‑agent components. - Implement containerized services (Docker) and orchestrate them with Kubernetes or ECS/Fargate. - Build and maintain Next.js front‑end components where needed. - Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA) through secure design, audit trails, and data encryption. - Establish and enforce engineering best practices, code quality, and performance monitoring. - Mentor and grow a small engineering team as the company scales. **Required Skills** - 5–15 years of hands‑on engineering, with senior DevOps or team‑lead experience. - Deep proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Next.js. - Strong AWS knowledge (Lambda, EC2, RDS/PostgreSQL, S3, IAM). - Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. - Containerization (Docker) and orchestration. - Continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. - Experience with scalable, secure cloud architectures. - Awareness of HIPAA requirements; experience with healthcare data is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college ranked in the top 50 (preferred). - Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus but not mandatory.
