Job Description
**Job Title:** Student Design Trainee – Summer Internship 2026 (Codes 5380, 5381, 5382) **Role Summary:** A full‑time, paid internship for college students or recent graduates to gain hands‑on experience in airport design, construction, and technology. Trainees will support a range of disciplines—including architecture, civil/utility/ mechanical/ electrical engineering, GIS, BIM, sustainability, project management, and business analytics—within an airport Infrastructure & Design organization. **Expectations:** - Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on schedule. - Participate actively in project teams and mentorship meetings. - Maintain high quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. - Document processes and findings for future reference. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist in planning, design, and documentation across engineering disciplines. - Build and modify BIM models (Revit, Navisworks) and GIS maps. - Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability analyses. - Support construction management activities, including inspections, surveys, and quality control. - Analyze operational data, develop dashboards, and create low/no‑code solutions (PowerApps, Excel). - Communicate progress and findings to project stakeholders. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Team‑orientated with the ability to work independently. - Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, BIM). - Basic data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI). - Familiarity with low‑code platforms (PowerApps) is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, architecture, environmental science, urban planning, transportation, IT, or a related field. - No specific certifications required; knowledge of industry standards (e.g., AIA, ASCE, AWS, ISO) is advantageous.
