**Job title:** NBC News Communications, Marketing, and Research Intern (Summer 2026)
**Role Summary:**
Assist the NBC News Audience Development & Engagement team in producing, optimizing, and analyzing digital communications and paid media initiatives. Support newsletters, SEO, and media‑research activities while collaborating with cross‑functional partners to grow and retain audiences across the NBC News digital ecosystem.
**Expectations:**
- Commit 40 hours per week during the internship period (June 1 – Aug 7, 2026).
- Actively enrolled in a degree‑granting program and able to produce deliverables on schedule.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and apply digital marketing concepts.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Create, schedule, and distribute email newsletters, ensuring brand consistency and audience relevance.
2. Assist in paid‑media campaign design and execution (ad copy, targeting, budgeting) and monitor performance metrics.
3. Conduct keyword research, site audits, and on‑page optimization to improve SEO rankings.
4. Segment audiences, analyze engagement data, and generate insights to inform content strategy.
5. Collaborate with editorial, product, e‑commerce, and data‑analytics teams on integrated initiatives.
6. Collect, clean, and visualize data from tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and social‑media analytics.
7. Produce concise reports and dashboards communicating audience growth, campaign results, and recommended actions.
8. Support ongoing research into emerging communication channels, tools, and best practices.
**Required Skills:**
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong analytical abilities and fluency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; basic data‑visualization skills.
- Foundational knowledge of digital marketing concepts—SEO, SEM, email marketing, paid media metrics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with social media analytics and basic media‑tracking tools.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Self‑motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Business, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date in 2026 or later.
- Certifications are not mandatory; knowledge of SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush), Google Analytics, and Adobe Creative Cloud is advantageous.
