Job Description
**Job Title:** Research Executive (6‑month internship) **Role Summary:** Support a Brussels‑based public affairs consultancy by researching EU policy developments, monitoring legislation and media, assisting event organization, and contributing to client service teams. Develop practical public affairs skills within a fast‑paced consultancy environment. **Expectations:** - Conduct timely, accurate policy research for client projects. - Deliver legislative, regulatory and press monitoring updates. - Assist in planning and executing client and outreach events. - Participate in client team discussions and suggest research improvements. - Build professional relationships with external stakeholders. - Demonstrate proactive learning of public‑affairs tasks. **Key Responsibilities:** - Track EU institutional activities and summarize policy implications. - Perform initial research on client‑specific policy issues. - Provide daily/weekly legislative and media monitoring briefs. - Support logistics, coordination and on‑site execution of events. - Contribute research insights to client deliverables and internal best‑practice discussions. - Attend relevant external conferences, workshops, and networking events. **Required Skills:** - Experience or familiarity with EU institutions, national governments, consultancies, or European associations/federations. - Strong analytical and research abilities in EU affairs, IR, law or political science. - Interest/knowledge in at least one sector: environment & energy, technology, industry, finance, or agriculture & food. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; working knowledge of a second EU official language. - Enthusiasm for public‑affairs communications (outreach, social media). - Ability to assist in event planning and coordination. - Eligible to work in an EU member state. **Required Education & Certifications:** - University degree (or equivalent) in EU affairs, International Relations, Law, Political Science, or a closely related field. - No specific certifications required.
