Job Description
Job title: Senior Strategic Planner Role Summary Lead the formulation and execution of communication strategies for EU‑wide campaigns, converting citizen and stakeholder insights into clear, evidence‑based narratives that guide creative development and optimize campaign impact. Expectations - Deliver actionable, insight‑driven strategies that align with client objectives, brand positioning, and EU policy contexts. - Maintain strategic coherence across channels, audiences, and markets. - Act as the citizen advocate, ensuring all messaging reflects genuine public perspectives. - Identify and mitigate communication risks, safeguarding credibility and reputation. - Champion continuous improvement by analysing results and extracting lessons for future campaigns. Key Responsibilities 1. **Research & Insight** – Lead qualitative & quantitative studies; translate data into “reason‑to‑believe” insights. 2. **Strategy Development** – Craft communication and advertising plans; develop strategic narratives and creative briefs. 3. **Creative Collaboration** – Partner with Creative, Content, and Outreach teams; challenge and align ideas throughout the creative process. 4. **Measurement & Optimisation** – Define success metrics; evaluate campaign effectiveness; recommend optimisations. 5. **Risk & Mitigation** – Spot strategic risks; propose mitigation measures to ensure clarity, credibility, and reputational safety. Required Skills - Advanced research design and data interpretation (qualitative & quantitative). - Strategic thinking with a balanced creative‑logical approach. - Superior written and verbal communication in English; proficiency in additional EU languages is an asset. - Deep understanding of media ecosystems and channel selection. - Knowledge of EU affairs, policies, and public communication dynamics. - Analytical mindset, curiosity, and willingness to question assumptions. - Strong project management: multi‑project coordination, organization, and flexibility. - Risk assessment and mitigation capability. Required Education & Certifications - Master’s degree in Communication Sciences, Political Science, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field. - Minimum 8 years of proven experience in strategic planning, communication, or advertising, with a track record of developing insight‑driven strategies.
