Job Title: Senior AWS Architect
Role Summary
Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of large‑scale, server‑centric and serverless solutions on AWS. Drive enterprise‑grade architecture, modernize legacy workloads, and embed DevOps practices across the organization.
Expectations
- Minimum 15 years of software architecture and cloud engineering experience.
- Proven track record delivering complex, scalable applications on AWS, including legacy migration to EC2, Docker, and modern cloud services.
- Strong hands‑on fluency with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and AWS CLI.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services: IAM, S3, Aurora, SQS, Lambda, Glue, CloudWatch, Lake Formation, EC2, VPC, Route 53, and related networking & security.
- Extensive experience with Python for application code, automation, and Lambda functions.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (Aurora, MySQL, Athena) and SQL writing.
- Demonstrated use of CI/CD pipelines and associated tooling.
- Road‑mapping and modernizing application architecture to microservices, containerization, and serverless patterns.
- Stakeholder communication: translate technical solutions to business objectives and produce technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and validate end‑to‑end AWS solutions for automation, data lake, analytics, and backend services.
- Build reusable infrastructure modules using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
- Conduct migration assessments, plan and execute EC2 and database (MySQL/Aurora) migrations.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines; integrate testing, security scanning, and deployment automation.
- Implement secure, scalable, and high‑availability architectures for serverless workloads using Lambda, API Gateway, and Glue.
- Optimize costs, monitoring, and performance across AWS resources; set up CloudWatch dashboards and alarms.
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and data teams to enforce best‑practice policies (IAM, encryption, network segmentation).
- Mentor and guide architect and engineering teams; facilitate code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of new AWS services, features, and architectural patterns.
Required Skills
- Mastery of AWS services (compute, storage, database, serverless, analytics, IAM, security).
- Advanced proficiency in Python for scripting, Lambda functions, and tooling.
- Expertise in AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform (preferred), and Azure CLI.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, ECR) and orchestration on AWS.
- Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, CodeBuild).
- Solid relational database knowledge (Aurora, MySQL, Athena) and SQL.
- Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (Angular/AngularJS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Knowledge of observability tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional (preferred).
