**Job Title**
Full Stack Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design and develop next‑generation training systems for defence clients, spanning desktop, VR, and tablet platforms. Work independently and lead a small team, mentoring junior developers and shaping technology choices in a DevOps environment.
**Expectations**
- Deliver robust, secure software that meets defence requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Maintain clear documentation and adhere to ISO/IEC standards.
- Pass BPSS and Security Clearance (SC) checks; be a UK national only.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Create UML designs and develop code in PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Use IDEs (Visual Studio, VS Code, NetBeans) and version control (GitHub).
- Design and deploy Docker/Kubernetes containers for development and production.
- Track tasks, bugs, and features; participate in agile sprints (SCRUM).
- Write and maintain inline code comments and external documentation.
- Ensure code quality through tools such as SonarQube.
- Collaborate with customers, designers, and testers to capture requirements.
**Required Skills**
- 5–15 years of full‑stack development experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, NetBeans, and Git.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps pipelines.
- Core design patterns, object‑oriented design, and UML diagramming.
- PHP, MySQL, Apache stack; jQuery, Bootstrap, and related libraries.
- Excellent debugging, code optimization, and security practices.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead a small team.
- Familiarity with ISO 90003, ISO 15388, and defence‑industry processes (optional, not mandatory).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- BPSS clearance; willingness to obtain SC security clearance.
