Job Description
Job title Associate, Data Science Role Summary Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to design, build, and deploy predictive models that enhance customer experience, reduce risk, and drive revenue across the customer lifecycle in a fintech environment. Expectations * Deliver production‑ready machine learning solutions that influence business strategy. * Maintain high data quality and model accuracy through rigorous cleaning, feature engineering, and validation. * Communicate complex analytical insights clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences, driving actionable recommendations. Key Responsibilities 1. Identify business opportunities by collaborating with product, marketing, credit risk, legal, and engineering teams. 2. Mine and analyze large internal and third‑party data sets to uncover insights for model development. 3. Design, train, and refine predictive models using algorithms such as GLM, SVM, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and deep learning. 4. Execute end‑to‑end model development pipeline: data cleaning, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment. 5. Perform ad‑hoc analyses and present findings and recommendations to senior management. 6. Work with Data Engineering, ML Ops, and Software Development to implement, monitor, and maintain models in production. 7. Develop tools and processes for ongoing model performance monitoring and data integrity checks. Required Skills * Proficient Python programming with production‑level coding experience. * Strong knowledge of machine learning theory and practice (GLM, SVM, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, DL). * Advanced SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets. * Familiarity with Object‑Oriented Design and functional programming concepts. * Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. * Analytical mindset with acute attention to detail and data integrity. * Experience with Databricks, AWS (AI/ML services), and Looker a plus. * Domain knowledge in credit risk and financial services is preferred. Required Education & Certifications * Master’s or PhD degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related STEM field. * 2–3 years of professional experience in machine learning or data science within the financial services or fintech industry. ---
