Job Description
Job title: Software Engineer (Trainee) Role Summary: Support the development of Automatic Parking Brake (APB) software by enhancing and integrating features into the embedded system for vehicle testing. Work within a software team, applying model-based design techniques and industry standards to deliver reliable control functions. Expactations: - Deliver functional APB feature improvements within a 6‑month internship period. - Show competence in Matlab/Simulink modeling, coding, and testing. - Ensure compliance with MISRA/MAAB safety standards. - Produce clear documentation and test reports. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze existing APB software architecture and identify enhancement opportunities. - Design and implement feature logic using Matlab/Simulink and related scripting. - Create and execute Model‑in‑the‑Loop (MIL) test cases. - Troubleshoot and validate results, refining models as needed. - Maintain code in version control (SVN) and integrate with CI tools (Jenkins). - Collaborate with senior engineers to review and approve changes. - Document design decisions, test procedures, and outcomes in technical reports. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink model‑based design and Matlab scripting. - Knowledge of embedded programming in C or C++. - Familiarity with safety‑critical coding standards (MISRA/MAAB). - Experience using Jira for issue tracking and basic SVN workflow. - Ability to create clear documentation in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Good written and spoken English; French is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline. - No additional certifications required.
