Job Description
Job Title: Summer Student Engineering Intern Role Summary: Assist in engineering projects across Mechanical, Process, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Engineering Data Systems, or Piping Design departments, applying coursework to real‑world deliverables under mentorship, while developing technical proficiency and professional skills. Expectations: • 3rd or 4th year engineering or design student • Eligible to work in Canada • Capable of both team‑based and independent work • Adhere to company safety standards and business practices • Perform self‑check on deliverables and continuously learn Key Responsibilities: • Support day‑to‑day department tasks and project activities • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project deliverables • Prepare, review, and self‑check engineering drawings, analyses, and reports • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment • Attend training sessions and apply new processes, methods, and tools • Communicate progress and ask questions to maintain alignment with project leads Required Skills: • Strong foundation in core engineering principles relevant to assigned discipline • Proficiency in CAD, modeling, simulation, or other discipline‑specific software • Analytical and problem‑solving abilities • Attention to detail and quality assurance mindset • Clear verbal and written communication • Time‑management and organizational skills • Willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and best practices • Ability to work collaboratively and cross‑functionally Required Education & Certifications: • Enrolled in an accredited university engineering degree or technical design/technology institute (Mechanical, Process, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Engineering Data Systems, Piping Design, or related) • 3rd or 4th year of study • Legal eligibility to work in Canada • (Optional) Completed safety training or similar certification is an asset but not mandatory.
