Job title: Technical Design Authority – HPE Aruba
Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and operationalisation of HPE Aruba‑based switching and wireless networks. Serve as the technical authority, ensuring network architecture meets client requirements, adheres to design and security standards, and is fully documented, automated, and secure.
Expactations: Deliver high‑performance, reliable networks that comply with security and design guidelines; produce comprehensive design artefacts and automated deployment tools; collaborate with cybersecurity, supply‑chain, delivery, and operations teams; support pre‑sales and post‑deployment activities; maintain up‑to‑date certifications and expertise in HPE Aruba solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document low‑level network architecture for Aruba switches, APs, and gateways, ensuring alignment with customer needs and security policies.
- Author design documentation, proof‑of‑concept collateral, IP addressing plans, and configuration baselines.
- Conduct security reviews with cyber‑security teams; implement best‑practice controls across design and operation.
- Provide technical input to pre‑sales proposals, including cost estimation.
- Manage vendor relationships and supply‑chain integration.
- Install, configure, and optimise new customer networks.
- Operate operational support teams during deployment roll‑outs.
- Deploy and configure DHCP, NTP, SIEM/logging, and performance testing tools (Ixia, iPerf, Ostinato).
- Automate device provisioning using Ansible playbooks and ZTP; develop Python scripts to query Aruba APIs.
- Implement micro‑segmentation on Aruba devices; set up EAP‑TLS CA for authentication.
- Recommend tools and software to enhance design and deployment processes.
Required Skills:
- Expert knowledge of IP networking and Wi‑Fi; primary focus on HPE Aruba, secondary on Cisco/Juniper.
- Strong conceptual and technical problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Ansible (playbooks, API/CLI integration) and Python scripting for network automation.
- Experience with micro‑segmentation, EAP‑TLS, ClearPass, and identity‑provider integration.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver under tight timelines.
- Proven consulting experience in large, complex infrastructure transformations.
- Fluency in English (CEFR C1/C2) and French (CEFR C2).
Required Education & Certifications:
- Up‑to‑date HPE Aruba networking accreditations (e.g., Aruba Certified Design Professional, Aruba Certified Implementation Professional).
- Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP) beneficial.
- Formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s or higher).
