Job Description
**Job Title**: RN Registered Nurse **Role Summary**: Permanent Part-time B Registered Nurse in Surgical/OBST (Obstetrics and Surgery) unit, providing patient care in a family-centered labor and delivery environment. Role involves direct care of mothers, newborns, and surgical patients, with a focus on perinatal health, neonatal stabilization, and interdisciplinary collaboration. **Expectations**: - Work 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends) as per departmental needs. - Comply with College of Nurses of Ontario standards and RMH Code of Conduct. - Meet physical demands as outlined in the job’s Physical Demands Analysis. **Key Responsibilities**: - Assess and manage perinatal patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. - Perform antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including fetal monitoring and high-risk management. - Administer medications and therapies (IV, neonatal resuscitation). - Collaborate with surgical teams for cesarean sections and postoperative recovery. - Educate families on perinatal health, breastfeeding, and new parenting. **Required Skills**: - Current CPR certification, IV Therapy/Medications, Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring. - Coronary Care 1 (postgraduate level) and MORE OB training (mandatory within six months). - Epic system training (completion required within six months). - Clinical proficiency in perinatal emergency care, labor/delivery management, and newborn stabilization. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing. - 3-5 years recent Obstetrics (OBS) clinical experience. - Compliance with College of Nurses quality assurance standards. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred but not required.
