Job Description
Job title: Head of Data Role Summary: Lead the management, development, and support of the trust’s data warehouse, business intelligence, and information‑management systems. Serve as subject‑matter expert on data analytics, guiding digital change initiatives and enabling self‑serve reporting for clinical and operational performance. Expactations: Exhibit technical authority in BI and data governance; ensure compliance with NHS standards and data protection regulations; collaborate with clinical teams to deliver data‑driven insights for service improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain the data warehouse and related BI platforms. - Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for all business‑intelligence activities. - Develop and promote self‑serve data‑reporting tools, enabling real‑time access to KPIs, capacity, demand, and data‑quality metrics. - Oversee data‑management and reporting processes, ensuring adherence to information‑governance policies and NHS standards. - Deliver training and enablement on information‑management practices across the department and the wider organization. - Partner with clinical services to translate data analytics into actionable insights for patient‑care improvement. Required Skills: - Advanced knowledge of data‑warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and BI reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar). - Strong command of data‑governance frameworks, information‑security, and GDPR compliance. - Proven leadership experience in managing cross‑functional analytics teams. - Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights for clinical stakeholders. - Excellent communication skills for training, stakeholder engagement, and reporting to senior leadership. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Analytics, or related field. - Relevant certifications in BI tools, data‑engineering, or data‑governance (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Specialist, Certified Information Privacy Professional).
