Job Description
**Job Title:** Finance Assistant **Role Summary:** Provide day‑to‑day accounting support and administrative assistance to the finance team. Manage accounts payable/receivable, perform reconciliations, prepare month‑end entries, support VAT and statutory reporting, and produce sales/statistics reports. Ensure accuracy of financial records and maintain the fixed asset register. **Expectations:** - Deliver accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment runs within established timelines. - Maintain up‑to‑date financial filing and documentation. - Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and external vendors. - Meet all statutory deadlines and support audit readiness. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Process and record accounts payable invoices and employee expense claims. 2. Manage purchase order requests and prepare weekly payment runs for purchase ledger. 3. Create sales statistics reports in partnership with other departments. 4. Maintain fixed asset register and post related journal entries. 5. Reconcile daily bank and credit card balances; perform intercompany ledger reconciliations. 6. Assist with month‑end reporting: journal postings, account reconciliations, VAT preparation, and other statutory reporting. 7. Provide general administrative support to the finance team and handle ad‑hoc duties. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with accounting software (Sage 300 or Sage Intacct). - Advanced Excel skills (data entry, formulas, basic analysis). - Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. - Excellent organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Effective written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across departments. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Relevant finance or accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, BSc Accounting). - Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts‑assistant role.
