**Job Title**
Head of Finance
**Role Summary**
Provide strategic and operational financial leadership to support business planning, growth, and sustainability. Strengthen financial systems, deliver accurate reporting, manage compliance, and lead a small finance team while serving as Data Protection Officer.
**Expectations**
- Deliver tactical and strategic financial guidance to senior management and board.
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and reporting across the organization.
- Promote fiscal discipline and support sustainable growth initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for strategic decisions.
- Prepare and present clear, insightful management information to the Board and Senior Management Team.
- Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations: cash flow, payroll, VAT, statutory filings, and general ledger management.
- Manage the annual audit process, ensuring accurate audit documentation and full regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain robust financial reporting systems and processes.
- Support the design and financial modelling of new business initiatives.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small finance team (Bookkeeper, 0.6 FTE).
- Act as Data Protection Officer, ensuring GDPR and related data‑privacy compliance.

- Advanced financial planning, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Expertise in management reporting, budgeting, and financial modelling.
- In‑depth knowledge of UK statutory requirements, tax, VAT, and audit processes.
- Proficiency with finance software (e.g., ERP systems, advanced Excel).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of data protection regulations (GDPR) and related compliance.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 7‑10 years of progressively senior finance experience, ideally in a community interest or social enterprise setting.
