Job Description
Job title: Elementary International Language Supply Instructor – Marathi Role Summary: Provide evening language instruction for a diverse elementary cohort (Jr. KG–Grade 8) in Marathi, developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing competencies in a multicultural and Indigenous‑centered context. Expectations: - Teach Monday‑Wednesday evenings, October 1 2025 to May 13 2026. - Execute curriculum aligned with District of Columbia Education (DCE) guidelines and inclusive practice. - Deliver programming that meets individual student needs and promotes cultural awareness. Key Responsibilities: - Assess student learning, develop short‑ and long‑term instructional plans. - Prepare, adapt, and implement resources and activities tailored to diverse skill levels. - Plan, deliver, and coordinate lessons that incorporate current Ontario language‑teaching practices. - Employ age‑appropriate materials and instructional strategies to foster engagement and progress. Required Skills: - Fluency in Marathi (reading, writing, speaking). - Proven ability to teach Marathi language skills. - Strong classroom management and assessment capabilities. - Commitment to equity, inclusion, and Indigenous respect. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum degree or certificate in language education or related field. - Teacher certification or qualification recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education (or equivalent). ---
