Job Description
Job Title: Associate, Accounts Role Summary: Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, simple tax returns, and ad‑hoc compliance projects for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, and limited companies. Work under the guidance of senior accountants, collaborating with offshore teams, and contributing to client service delivery and business development. Expectations: - Deliver accurate, timely financial statements and tax returns in compliance with UK GAAP. - Maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are raised promptly. - Continuously improve work quality through feedback and professional development. - Support onboarding and training of new Associates. Key Responsibilities: - Produce non‑complex accounts and tax returns for a variety of client structures. - Understand each client’s business needs to tailor services accordingly. - Seek guidance from senior staff to maintain quality and accuracy. - Update workflow systems throughout each delivery stage. - Liaise directly with clients to gather required information and present findings. - Attend client meetings when required, representing the firm professionally. - Contribute to business development by engaging on social media, understanding firm offerings, and identifying potential new opportunities. Required Skills: - Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles (UK GAAP). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). - Excellent written and verbal communication, adaptable to client and colleague audiences. - Ability to work collaboratively with offshore and internal teams. - Time‑management and deadline‑adherence. - Problem‑solving and proactive feedback application. Required Education & Certifications: - A‑Level qualification or equivalent (solid general education). - Current enrolment in a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, or ACCA). ---
