**Job Title**
Data Architect
**Role Summary**
Design and document enterprise data architecture for a large engineering and project‑delivery organization. Define data domains, models, principles, and lineage to enable consistent data governance and integration across ERP, project, engineering, finance, risk, and compliance systems.
**Expectations**
* 7+ years of data architecture or modelling experience in complex, multi‑system environments.
* Strong deliverable orientation: produce conceptual and logical models, lineage maps, and data artefacts in versioned repositories.
* Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including Integration, Security, and Business Architects.
* Support pilot projects through high‑level to detailed design, integrating APIs, ETL/ELT, and data services.
* Work remotely with periodic on‑site engagements.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Collaborate with Enterprise, Solution, and Business Architects to establish a baseline data architecture.
* Identify, document, and map key data sources, integrations, and reporting layers across ERP, project tools, engineering applications, and other core systems.
* Design high‑level conceptual and logical data models for priority domains such as projects, assets, work orders, finance, risk, and compliance.
* Define data principles, naming conventions, master/reference data rules, quality standards, and retention policies.
* Map data lineage for critical reports and interfaces, highlighting gaps, quality issues, and technical debt.
* Populate HLA/HLD designs for 1–2 pilot projects within the new EA workflow.
* Coordinate with Integration and Security Architects to align APIs, data services, and control mechanisms with the data architecture.
* Contribute versioned data artefacts and diagrams to the EA repository.
* Advise client teams on data improvement priorities (master data, reporting, governance) and help shape a realistic data roadmap.
**Required Skills**
* Proven experience designing conceptual and logical data models for complex, multi‑system environments.
* Demonstrated ability to map data flows and lineage across transactional systems, integrations, and reporting platforms.
* Deep understanding of data management practices: data quality, master/reference data, metadata, retention, and ownership.
* Hands‑on experience with a modern data and analytics platform (e.g., Azure Data Platform, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, SAP BW/HANA).
* Familiarity with integration patterns (APIs, ETL/ELT, streaming) and collaboration with Integration Architects.
* Strong communication skills in English; ability to explain data concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Comfortable with hybrid delivery (remote + occasional on‑site).
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
* Professional certifications in data architecture, data modelling, or related disciplines (e.g., DAMA DMBoK, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, SnowPro Core) are a plus.
