**Job Title**
Manufacturing Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead and coordinate all aspects of production for a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient scheduling, quality compliance, cost control, and continuous improvement. Responsible for supervising a team of 11‑15 employees, managing inventory, overseeing equipment maintenance, and reporting performance to senior leadership.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of progressive manufacturing management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
- On‑site role with willingness to relocate and travel as required.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, pressure‑intensive environment with tight deadlines.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain production schedules, duty rosters, and staffing plans.
- Conduct daily operations reviews; identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Manage raw‑material and finished‑goods inventory to prevent shortages.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Create and monitor equipment maintenance schedules; recommend replacements.
- Direct quality control inspections; enforce quality management and assurance standards.
- Hire, train, and supervise production staff; facilitate training on new equipment/techniques.
- Plan and implement process, machinery, and equipment upgrades.
- Prepare departmental budget; track and report cost findings and internal controls.
- Produce performance reports and presentations for executive committees and boards.
**Required Skills**
- Leadership and team management (supervise 11‑15 staff).
- Production scheduling and resource allocation.
- Quality control & assurance, including knowledge of ISO 9001/quality standards.
- Cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Equipment maintenance planning and lifecycle management.
- Strong oral and written communication; report writing.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), project‑management tools, scheduling software, database management, and monitoring/tracking applications.
- Technical familiarity with SolidWorks, electric/diesel locomotive equipment, and general machinery operations.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related discipline.
- Certifications (preferred): Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
