Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Financial Analyst **Role Summary:** Lead financial analysis and reporting for an energy & utilities organization, ensuring accurate monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support. Serve as a strategic partner to senior operations, driving financial planning, process improvements, and revenue/cost insights. **Expectations:** - 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in the energy or utilities sector. - Strong analytical judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with senior operational leaders and influence decision‑making. **Key Responsibilities:** - Execute monthly accounting close and prepare/assist monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. - Post periodic accruals, perform account reconciliations, and maintain general ledger integrity. - Develop and maintain detailed budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis (actual vs. projected). - Act as a strategic financial partner to senior operational leads, supporting financial planning and decision making. - Lead and guide business planning activities, including robust budgeting/forecasting and scenario analysis. - Deliver audit support, including data requests, timeline coordination, and documentation. - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls. - Conduct ad‑hoc analyses for the Controller and CFO, summarizing and contextualizing financial results. **Required Skills:** - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced functions). - Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics). - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication, with an emphasis on clarity and precision. - High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. - Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and drive projects to completion. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. - CPA certification preferred; equivalent professional accounting credential acceptable.
