Job Title: Datacenter Manager
Role Summary: Lead daily operations of a public‑health data center, ensuring high availability, security, and efficient capacity planning while managing budgets and vendor relationships.
Expectations:
- Operate data‑center functions with minimal downtime.
- Maintain regulatory compliance (HIPAA, PCI‑DSS, etc.).
- Deliver cost‑effective service and ROI on capital spend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise servers, networking, storage, UPS, HVAC, and cabling.
- Enforce physical and cybersecurity controls and conduct audits.
- Plan capacity, upgrades, and modernization, evaluating cloud/virtualization options.
- Design and test disaster recovery and business‑continuity plans.
- Manage budget, procurement, and contractor performance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and perform regular audits.
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, OS, networking protocols, and security.
- Expertise in data‑security, disaster‑recovery planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of power distribution, UPS, backup, and cooling systems.
- Project management, budgeting, and resource allocation experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving, organization, and time‑management.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years progressive data‑center management experience.
- Preferred certifications: CDPee, CCSA, or equivalent.
