Job Description
Job title: Robotics Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and integrate industrial robotic systems to automate processes, focusing on six‑axis collaborative and industrial robots. Program, test, and troubleshoot robotic solutions, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and work directly with clients to meet project specifications. Expectations: Deliver fully functional robotic solutions that meet production goals, maintain high reliability, and adhere to safety regulations. Demonstrate continuous improvement by staying informed on robotics technology trends and applying best practices in automation. Key Responsibilities: - Design and program six‑axis collaborative and industrial robots for manufacturing or production environments. - Configure and test robot integration with vision systems and machine vision technology. - Conduct 3D modeling using SolidWorks/CAD/AutoDesk to prepare robotic workcells and associated equipment. - Wire, terminate, and connect pneumatic and power systems for robotic assemblies. - Perform troubleshooting, fault analysis, and resolve issues during system operation. - Collaborate with project, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to align automation solutions with process goals. - Document design specifications, programming code, test procedures, and training materials. - Stay current with emerging robotics, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Required Skills: - Programming of six‑axis collaborative/industrial robots. - Experience with vision systems and machine vision integration. - Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or equivalent). - Knowledge of wiring, termination, and pneumatic connections. - Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. - Effective communication and teamwork. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering. - Valid UK driving licence (necessary for site visits). Desirable (but not mandatory): - PLC programming experience (Siemens, Omron, Allen Bradley). - Experience using robotic simulation software.
