**Job title**: Senior Controls Engineer
**Role Summary**:
Lead design, development, commissioning, and delivery of advanced control and automation solutions across various industries. Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, maintain high engineering standards, and ensure compliance with integrated management systems.
**Expactations**:
* Class A engineering experience with 6+ years in control/automation.
* Proven track record delivering control solutions in Food, Utilities, FMCG, Process, or Materials Handling.
* Strong technical and project lead skills; ability to manage budgets, quality, safety, and timelines.
* Professional membership (e.g., MIET); chartered status preferred.
**Key Responsibilities**:
* Own end‑to‑end project lifecycle – from specification to commissioning.
* Produce and review specifications, design documents, and engineering reports.
* Develop, configure, and implement control‑system application software across PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES, and telemetry platforms.
* Lead testing and commissioning in live operations.
* Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and promote continuous improvement.
* Build and sustain client relationships through technical communication and presentations.
* Ensure compliance with company’s Integrated Management System and safety/OT cyber‑security standards.
* Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams; adapt to varying environments.
**Required Skills**:
* PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider).
* HMI & SCADA design and integration.
* Industrial networking and IoT/OT connectivity.
* Data analysis, reporting, and database integration.
* MES platform configuration.
* Functional safety and OT cyber‑security principles.
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.
* Leadership, problem‑solving, and project management.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
* Degree in Control, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Professional engineering membership (e.g., MIET) required; Chartered Engineer (CEng) desirable.
