Job Title: Buying Assistant Role Summary: Assist the buying and merchandising team in supply chain coordination, data management, trend analysis, and supplier communication to support the retail purchasing process for a branded footwear and accessories line. Expectations: - Support operational functions of the buying team. - Produce accurate weekly reports and maintain detailed data and purchase records. - Collaborate across Merchandising, Warehouse, Finance, and Stores. - Manage admin workload, prioritize tasks, and support interns or work experience participants. Key Responsibilities: - Liaise with suppliers, confirm orders, and track purchase orders. - Generate weekly trade reports and trend presentations for retail staff. - Maintain accurate data files, formulas, and missing information follow‑ups. - Monitor competitor activity, research brand proposals, and present market trend insights. - Participate in store visits and provide feedback to Buyers and Merchandising. - Review margins and RRP adjustments, highlighting seasonal changes. - Assist in planning buying trips and develop comprehensive order trackers. - Manage workload and priority lists for the Merchandising Admin Team. Required Skills: - Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas and data handling). - Strong organizational and prioritization abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication; relationship‑building. - Proactive, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented. - Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum of a high school diploma; preference for post‑secondary coursework or completion in business, retail, or fashion merchandising. - Previous experience in a buying or buying‑admin role (internship or placement considered acceptable).
