**Job title**
Intern – Mergers & Acquisitions (Buy/Sell Side) (F/M)
**Role Summary**
The M&A intern works as a full‑time member of a four‑person M&A advisory team, contributing to every phase of the transaction cycle—from origination and target identification through due diligence, valuation, and execution. The role offers direct, hands‑on exposure to senior leaders and responsibilities that impact client outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Originating M&A opportunities: market scouting, target screening, and preliminary assessments.
- Performing financial analyses and business valuations (DCF, multiples, precedent transactions).
- Preparing investment memorandums, management presentations, and pitch books.
- Setting up and updating data rooms, including document organization and quality control.
- Supporting due‑diligence processes: data extraction, security questionnaires, and coordination with advisors.
- Assisting in negotiation sessions by providing analytical inputs and drafting communication materials.
- Tracking deal milestones, milestones calendars, and deliverable status.
- Contributing to post‑transaction integration support as needed.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, macro basics).
- Strong PowerPoint skills for clear, persuasive decks.
- Solid financial analysis and valuation capabilities.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into concise reports.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English; German a plus.
- Self‑starter with high level of autonomy and pro‑activeness.
- Strong teamwork orientation and ability to work cross‑functionally.
- High attention to detail, analytical rigor, and problem‑solving mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Current enrollment in a Master’s program (M1/M2) in Business Administration or Engineering, with a focus on corporate finance, M&A, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in corporate finance, transaction services, audit, or related field (internship, placement, or part‑time role).
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, ACCA, CPA) preferred but not mandatory.
