**Job Title:** Commercial Analyst
**Role Summary:**
Support sales and business development in the private‑markets sector by delivering data‑driven insights, managing sales pipelines, and engaging prospective clients, including C‑suite stakeholders. Contribute to strategy and sales execution while developing deep knowledge of private equity, VC, infrastructure, and credit markets, with a career path toward a full sales role.
**Expectations:**
- Provide accurate, actionable analytics that improve sales efficiency and support decision‑making.
- Drive pipeline growth and help the sales team close deals through active participation in prospecting, client engagement, and presentation preparation.
- Develop expertise in private‑market products and customers, enabling confident communication with senior executives.
- Transition from a support role to a full sales contributor over time, taking ownership of live sales conversations and closing activities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Analyse sales and market data; create dashboards, reports, and visualisations for internal teams and external clients.
- Maintain and update the CRM pipeline, ensuring data integrity and timely opportunity tracking.
- Coordinate prospecting activities, events, and client meetings to advance the sales pipeline.
- Assist the sales team in crafting proposals, presentations, and negotiations, ensuring alignment with product and pricing strategies.
- Monitor and report on sales KPIs, providing trend analysis to inform strategy and process improvements.
- Collaborate with product, finance, and operations teams to refine pricing, proposals, and value propositions.
- Engage with C‑suite prospects, presenting data insights and answering product‑related questions.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis across private equity, VC, infrastructure, and credit sectors.
- Shadow senior sales professionals and progressively participate in live sales conversations.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to sales tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms.
**Required Skills:**
- 1–2 years of sales operations or consulting experience in a fast‑growing private‑markets environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities; proficient in manipulating large datasets and creating clear, logical visualisations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and business‑intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate complex data into concise insights for diverse audiences.
- Confidence presenting to executives and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Creative problem‑solving with the ability to propose innovative solutions.
- Self‑aware, collaborative team player who welcomes and provides honest feedback.
- Effective prioritisation and time‑management skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Understanding of broader business objectives to align analysis and support with strategic goals.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree from a top‑tier university in business, finance, statistics, economics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, Excel Expert, Power BI certification) are a plus but not mandatory.
