Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineer I **Role Summary:** Entry‑level software engineer responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform. Works under direct supervision to support delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise workflows and digital services, primarily within IT Service Management (ITSM) modules. **Expectations:** - Design and configure ServiceNow applications, workflows, and services per defined requirements. - Build and maintain catalog items, Flow Designer automations, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and data structures. - Troubleshoot platform issues and resolve them using established procedures. - Assist with integrations to external systems via REST, APIs, SOAP, etc. - Stay current with ServiceNow capabilities and industry best practices to enhance solutions. - Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and external contacts. **Key Responsibilities:** - Configure and maintain ServiceNow tables, fields, forms, and relationships. - Develop and support workflow automation using low‑code/no‑code tools. - Perform testing, debugging, and documentation of ServiceNow components. - Participate in Agile/SDLC activities (requirements gathering, build, test, deploy). - Provide support for system security configurations (roles, permissions, access control). - Execute assigned tasks and other duties as directed. **Required Skills:** - Basic knowledge of ServiceNow architecture and core ITSM modules. - Foundational understanding of Agile methodology and SDLC processes. - Introductory scripting ability, preferably JavaScript, within a platform context. - Familiarity with workflow automation, low‑code/no‑code development. - Understanding of relational data structures and system configuration. - Ability to identify issues, analyze information, and assist in solution implementation. - Basic grasp of security concepts (roles, permissions, access control). - Strong written and verbal communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: High school diploma or GED. - Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science, or related field. - Preferred certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or equivalent; relevant academic projects or internships involving ServiceNow.
