**Job Title**
AI Engineer – Intern
**Role Summary**
Assists in developing core product and AI systems for an observability platform, collaborating with senior engineers on backend, frontend, AI integration, and data infrastructure to deliver production-ready features.
**Expectations**
- Graduate student or recent graduate pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated coding proficiency and real project experience in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Rust.
- Strong interest in full‑stack development, AI/LLMs, or infrastructure for data‑heavy applications.
- Ability to work independently, debug complex issues, and iterate quickly in a startup environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that support user workflows and AI integrations.
- Contribute to frontend product experiences, ensuring cohesive UI/UX across the stack.
- Integrate large‑language‑model (LLM) agents and workflow components into live product features.
- Handle and analyze system data (logs, metrics, traces) to produce actionable insights.
- Prototype concepts, run experiments, and use data/feedback to prioritize enhancements.
- Test, debug, and improve system reliability and performance during development cycles.
**Required Skills**
- Programming: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Rust.
- Front‑end: React, TypeScript, Next.js (preferred).
- Backend frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, or similar.
- Databases: PostgreSQL or comparable relational database.
- AI/LLM: Prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, agentic workflow design.
- Observability: Experience with logs, metrics, traces, incident response tooling.
- Cloud & DevOps: AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Strong debugging, learning agility, and problem‑solving abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Currently enrolled or recently completed a BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- No mandatory certifications; familiarity with industry tools and practices is sufficient.
