Job title: Business Data Analyst Role Summary: Provide analytical and data‑management support to enable an organisation-wide move toward a data‑driven culture. Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and developers to design, document, and deliver automated reporting solutions, dashboards, and data products that support business and strategic objectives. Expectations: * 5+ years of experience in data‑related initiatives, including process design, solution design, and data transformation. * Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments and to manage cross‑functional stakeholder expectations. * Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. * Commitment to data quality, governance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: * Gather, analyse, and document data reporting requirements from business stakeholders. * Map data flows and perform data lineage checks to ensure integrity and compliance. * Apply business‑analysis techniques (process mapping, gap analysis) to identify opportunities for operational and strategic improvement. * Partner with data engineering, architecture, and IT teams to develop and deploy scalable, automated reports, dashboards, and data products. * Design and support sustainable, scalable data architectures aligned with business and technical standards. * Champion data quality, governance, and compliance across all projects. * Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable information for technical and non‑technical audiences. Required Skills: * Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R. * Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization platforms (QlikSense knowledge preferred). * Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, data warehousing, and ETL principles. * Business analysis, data mapping/modeling, and comprehensive requirements documentation skills. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities. * Ability to work within Agile project frameworks. * Curiosity for data and passion for continuous learning. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and implement enterprise‑wide data architecture, including data marts, lakes, and lakehouse on AWS. 2. Build, maintain, and mature a data catalogue to enhance governance and discoverability. 3. Define canonical data models, dimensional structures, and integration patterns for reporting and analytics. 4. Establish architectural standards, governance frameworks, and security controls. 5. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop secure, high‑performance data platforms. 6. Guide data validation, transformation, and cleansing processes to ensure quality. 7. Required Skills: - 5+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering. - Expertise with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, RDS, Lake Formation). - Strong knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and integration patterns. - Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and scripting. - Experience designing and implementing data lakes and lakehouse architectures. - Understanding of data governance, quality, metadata management, and protection standards. - Familiarity with IAM, encryption, and data security best practices. - Knowledge of CI‑CD pipelines and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus. - Excellent problem‑solving, systems thinking, communication, and leadership skills. - Ability to translate business goals into scalable data solutions. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - AWS certifications (Data Analytics Specialty or Solutions Architect) desirable.
