Job title: Customs & Logistics Specialist Role Summary: Ensure compliance of all import and export activities with customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies. Audit documentation, coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders, manage duty recovery, and continuously improve processes to reduce delays and costs. Expectations: - Minimum 5 years’ experience in trade compliance or customs. - Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent. - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, business administration, or related field. Key Responsibilities - Analyze, audit, and classify import/export documents, ensuring compliance and correct HTS codes and country of origin. - Conduct risk assessments, develop corrective action plans, and maintain a proactive compliance posture. - Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies, and internal teams to expedite releases and ensure on‑time delivery. - Manage and verify free trade certificates (USMCA, etc.) to minimize duty impact. - Track and report duties paid, manage duty recovery and drawbacks, and handle inquiries from customs authorities. - Maintain an HTS code database and update it per regulatory changes. - Produce reports on trade compliance metrics and recommend process improvements. - Assist in drafting and updating standard operating procedures for trade compliance. Required Skills - In‑depth knowledge of Harmonized System (HS) codes, Incoterms, and international trade agreements. - Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle, or equivalent). - Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Ability to multitask and perform under high‑pressure, fast‑paced environments.
