Job Description: **Job title**: Savoie Cheese Buyer **Role Summary** The Savoie Cheese Buyer will be a key member of the cheese procurement team, responsible for managing relationships with dairy producers, sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring daily purchasing meets quality, regulatory, and supply chain standards. The role involves field visits, market analysis, and collaboration with store teams to optimize inventory and promotion strategies. **Expectations** - Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably within the agri‑food sector (internships or apprenticeships count). - In‑depth knowledge of the dairy and cheese supply chain, especially in mountain regions. - Strong commercial acumen and a proactive, field‑ready mindset. - Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to travel to producer sites, factories, and stores. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Maintain and strengthen existing supplier relationships with milk, cheese, and dairy product producers. 2. Identify, source, and develop new long‑term partnerships aligned with sustainability and quality goals. 3. Serve as the primary interface between suppliers and store operations, ensuring clear communication and alignment. 4. Negotiate purchase terms, secure contracts, and manage commercial documentation in compliance with legislation. 5. Execute daily purchasing activities according to specifications, plan and implement promotion campaigns. 6. Oversee product grading, and enforce adherence to hygiene and quality standards. 7. Coordinate and optimize transportation logistics, ensuring secure and efficient supply flows. 8. Conduct market and competitive intelligence to inform procurement decisions. 9. Perform regular site visits to producers, supplier sites, and retail locations to monitor quality and compliance. **Required Skills** - Proven procurement and negotiation expertise. - Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities. - Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance. - Knowledge of transport logistics and supply chain optimization. - Understanding of regulatory and quality compliance in dairy products. - Proactive and self‑motivated with a field‑ready attitude. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Agri‑economics, or related field. - Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is an advantage.
