**Job title**
Technical Architect – Systems & Networks
**Role Summary**
Design, evolve, and maintain the technical architecture of a client’s strategic IT infrastructure, ensuring consistency, performance, and long‑term sustainability. Provide hands‑on expertise while leading the adoption of mature architectural patterns and coordinating technical initiatives.
**Expectations**
- Own the technical architecture for network, server, virtualization, and exploitation tooling layers.
- Translate business and technical needs into architecture solutions and documentation.
- Lead and coordinate technical teams on deployment, modernization, or transformation projects.
- Advocate for and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define, formalise, and document technical architectures (pattern, standards, reference models).
- Analyse technical impact on existing and future infrastructures.
- Produce clear, argumentative architecture diagrams and technical data sets (DATs).
- Present target architectures to governance boards and liaise with production teams for hand‑over.
- Conduct or support the deployment, modernization, or transformation of network, server, and virtualization environments.
- Coordinate technical stakeholders, ensure project coherence, and report progress to steering committees.
- Monitor emerging technologies and propose innovations or process improvements.
- Disseminate best‑practice knowledge across the organisation.
**Required Skills**
- Expert level systems administration (Linux/Windows, networking, virtualization).
- Experience in architecture design or strong ambition to progress into this role.
- Proficiency in modelling, diagramming, and documentation tools.
- Strong analytical, communicative, and pedagogical abilities.
- Collaborative mindset, capable of leading and influencing technical teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in systems/architecture (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified Architect, Cisco CCNP, or VMware Certified Professional).
