Job Description

**Job Title:** Cyber Security Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide strategic leadership and hands‑on engineering for cybersecurity compliance, risk management, and vulnerability remediation on a DoD defense program. Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, documentation, and systems to protect mission‑critical assets in accordance with DoD, NIST, and RMF frameworks. **Expectations:** - Hold an active Secret clearance. - Ensure continuous compliance with DoD standards and NIST guidelines. - Deliver accurate security assessments, documentation, and remediation within defined timelines. - Collaborate with program and infrastructure teams to integrate security controls into new hardware/software. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct security assessments and audits using DISA eMASS and ACAS; identify and remediate vulnerabilities. - Configure, implement, and manage ACAS scans; maintain related documentation. - Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), risk assessments, and POA&Ms for accreditation/authorization. - Perform hands‑on configuration and hardening of ESXi, VMware, Linux, Windows AD, SCAP, and remediation of STIG findings. - Apply appropriate STIGs, checklists, and control requirements to new components and software. - Support Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) and Zero Trust Architecture initiatives (preferred). - Provide technical guidance and support for vulnerability management across infrastructure devices. - Perform additional duties as assigned to support mission objectives. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years hands‑on cybersecurity engineering experience. - Proficient with ACAS (mandatory), DISA eMASS, RMF, POA&Ms, and vulnerability management processes. - Strong knowledge of STIG compliance, SCAP, and remediation techniques. - Experience configuring ESXi, VMware, Linux, Windows Active Directory environments. - Ability to produce and maintain security documentation (SSPs, risk assessments). - Familiarity with ICAM and Zero Trust Architecture concepts (preferred). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Active Secret security clearance. - DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) or higher.
