Job Description
Job Title: IT Intern Role Summary: Assist across multiple IT functions within a healthcare system, supporting hardware/software deployments, Epic EHR implementation, user training, and process improvement. Expectations: • Rotate through Governance & Project Management, End‑User Device, Information Security, Service Desk, and Applications teams. • Gain exposure to healthcare IT operations and Epic EHR rollout. • Learn technical skills on the job, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation. • Be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to travel between sites. Key Responsibilities - Install and configure workstations and software for new hires and existing staff. - Conduct Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR) and Epic training sessions. - Provide “At‑the‑Elbow” technology support to end users. - Perform routine system audits, compile reports, and present findings to management. - Identify and troubleshoot end‑user issues, optimizing applications and processes. - Manage user access and training requirements for Epic and other applications. - Collaborate on projects as assigned by management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook). - Strong verbal and written communication. - Analytical thinking with the ability to solve complex problems quickly. - Self‑starter with initiative and ability to work independently. - Quick learner of new systems and programs. - Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with team members and users. - Flexibility to travel between multiple facility locations. Required Education & Certifications - Minimum: High school diploma or GED. - Current enrollment in a college degree program or recent bachelor’s degree graduate (within 5 years) with an interest in healthcare IT.
